Maggie is committed, dedicated and passionate about creating a space of safety, comfortability and inclusivity where humans can experience whatever they need to flourish into who they truly want to be. Maggie has supported 1-on-1 with neurodiverse children between the ages of 4-17 mainly diagnosed (but not exclusive to) with Autism, and ADHD for the past 8 years, and additionally supported staff in the management and HR management role to promote mental health wellness and work life balance for the past 4 years. She has experience in how to navigate the system of Autism funding, supported families in navigating those services, and has collaborated with Behaviour Analysts, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and school teachers/staff (integrating Individualized Education Plans [IEP’s] into 1-on-1 goals). Maggie strives to be the open, approachable, caring, empathic, compassionate, bubbly, and a humorous person in your life. She takes a person-centred, trauma-informed, strengths-based, collaborative and play-based (for the younger ones!) approach.

Through my clinical, personal, and research experience, I understand the physical distress, prolonged grief, identity shifts, isolation, and strain on relationships that can arise from these experiences. I recognize their profound impact and support clients in navigating them with trauma-informed, client-centred care.
My approach is integrative, feminist, non-pathologizing and tailored to each client. Deborah is a dedicated and passionate teacher, counsellor, and mom to three children. She completed her M. Ed. in school counselling in 2023 and is a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC. Deborah has been an educator for ten years in learning support and inclusive education. Deborah worked as a middle school counsellor throughout her practicum and internship in her master’s program and is now an elementary and middle school counsellor in the Sooke School District along with being a counsellor at Heartwood Family Wellness.
Deborah takes a trauma-informed, person centered, and solution focused approach, believing that we all have the inherent ability to find the strength and resiliency within ourselves for growth and change.
